History: Here
Personality:
Ever since 1985, Princess Peach has been known to the world as the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. She’s been seen in more video games than any other female character, and is an iconic part of video game history. It’s the same for her world, too—Princess Peach is an icon to her subjects, she’s a famous figure. There is merchandise of her made and hung up in villages and houses throughout the Mushroom Kingdom, she’s a present figure in almost every event, and she’s a desirable target for many villains, not just the famous Bowser himself. There’s a lot more to her than that, though. She might have been one of the original damsels-in-distress, kidnapped many times during her reign, but she’s a lot more than just the beautiful princess in pink.

For starters, one of the most important things about Princess Peach is her ability to love. In Mario Party 3, when all of the characters fight over who should relieve the Millennium Star’s Love Stamp, even Peach herself says it should go to her. She’s not wrong. Peach is motherly and kind not only to the friends that surround her, but even to the villains who kidnap her and the entire kingdom. You have to be a pretty loving person to be kidnaped by Bowser one day, fight alongside him in an RPG the next, and later still play some sports with him. She’s kind, showing forgiveness to people who attempt to harm her. In Super Paper Mario, she’s teased mercilessly by Mimi about how many times she’s been kidnapped, but Princess Peach tries to save her after a trapdoor opens, even at the great risk of harming herself. She’s always thoughtful of her friends, thanking them for helping her with cakes, and she often hosts festivals and parties for the town as well.

And if there’s one thing she loves, it’s her friends. Her relationship with Mario is especially important—whenever she’s kidnapped, he’s the one that’s there to save her. In Luigi’s Mansion, when Mario is the one kidnapped, she sends along her Toads to help him. He’s always on her mind; sometimes, they share romantic, lovey-dovey moments when celebrating, at other times they are strong allies and good friends, but there’s always the hint that it’s something more. They are completely dedicated to each other, willing to fight for each other at the drop of a hat. Sure, a Mario Party will turn that upside-down, but friendly competition is important. She’s also almost equally fond of Luigi, though they don’t share as much chemistry. He is still a very important person to her, though. Another important person in Peach’s life is Daisy. They are sometimes the best of friends, but at other times they are sports rivals. They work well together and are often paired with each other for tennis or baseball, and Peach cares about her deeply. In Mario Super Sluggers, Daisy is turned to stone and Peach is immediately worried about her upon hearing of her condition.

But despite her loving, caring, and friend-loving nature, it has to be remembered that Princess Peach has been kidnapped many, many times. Princess Peach has never been the physically strongest of people. Even in her playable appearances, she’s been slower or weaker or relied more on magical attacks. To her, it’s a real annoyance. If it’s not Bowser, it’s someone else, and it’s gotten to the point where she has to stop, look at the situation and say..."I can't believe I got kidnapped…again." When she’s kidnapped, she never loses hope. She might sniffle a little, but she has faith in herself and in her rescuers that everything will be okay. And that’s one of the great things about Peach—even in the most dire of situations, even when she can see the worst outcome, she knows that it will never come to pass because of her and her friends. She’s never content to sit and wait, either.

Yes, that’s another side of Princess Peach. She might have been silent during the first Mario game, but in every game since, she’s been secretly moving behind Bowser’s back. In Super Mario Bros. 3, she sends Mario letters containing rare items to help him despite how risky it is to defy Bowser. It happens again in Super Mario World. Bowser kidnaps her, but she holds onto items to throw to Mario during their fight. In Super Mario 64, she leaves notes for him throughout the castle, and we finally get to see how she does it in Paper Mario. She sneaks behind Bowser’s back all over the castle, sending Mario clues and items while constantly putting herself in danger. At each turn, he stops her, but she never gives up and always finds another way to go about it. In Super Mario 3D Land, there are photo sequences that take it to an entirely new level. Princess Peach beats up Bowser’s minions and runs away from being kidnapped. In the end, she gets kidnapped again, but it’s not like she didn’t try! In her RPG appearances—especially Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars—she's decidedly more bold, telling people off with great lines like "Yuck! I don't want to play ANYTHING with you!" or "Oh, what's the matter, little girl? Did I spank Mimi a little too hard?".

And that’s what’s great about Peach—on one hand, she’s really girly. She loves to garden, to bake, to throw parties and wear dresses, but beneath all of that is a girl who is competitive and spunky. In Super Mario RPG, she’s kidnapped, but upon being returned to the castle she concocts a plan. She switches places with her grandma and escapes with her parasol so that she can join Mario on his adventure. And she gets cheeky! She’s not above calling someone a jerk or putting them in their place if they misbehave. In Super Princess Peach, she even has an adventure all to herself. She works hard to get through all of the enemies and face Bowser for the first time by herself, saving Mario and Luigi instead of the other way around. In Super Mario 3D World, she’s even the first to go through the pipe to the new world. After Bowser kidnaps a Sprixie right in front of her, she falls into the pipe trying to save her, and that’s the start of her latest adventure.

That’s another side of her. Peach is always ready for adventure. She’s curious and naive about the world around her, and she always wants to see more. Her adventures lead her to many places—seedy towns full of outcasts, tropical islands, and everything in between. It can be said that she doesn’t always learn from her mistakes, seeing as how she’s been kidnapped so many times in so many different ways, but she still appreciates Mario and Luigi’s efforts and wants to grow. She loves trying new things, but she can sometimes be so nice that it’s almost a fault. Her kind and open nature makes it easy to get close to her; Bowser is always kidnapping her in the middle of hosting a party or while she’s with friends at a festival.

In the end, Peach is a lot more than just that girl who is always kidnapped, but that part of her can’t be ignored, either. She’s a girly damsel in distress, waiting for Mario to rescue her and sending him help in sneaky ways. She’s a competitive sports partner who hates losing and uses advanced techniques to win her way to a trophy. She’s so generous that she’ll build entire islands and raceways for her friends to enjoy, but she’s also happy just spending a quiet evening baking a cake for her friends. She’s pure of heart, she always tries her hardest, and she’s an adventurer deep down, but that doesn’t mean that she always wins. When things don’t go her way, she might cry a little, but she’s also the beautiful princess whose smile once made a computer fall in love with her. In the end, Peach is exactly who she is, and the best part? She’s exactly who she wants to be.

Third-Person Sample:
There are so many new things in Aqures Ixen. Each time that she enters a shop or a restaurant, it feels like she’s learning something brand new about this place. Potions are used for healing instead of mushrooms, they have a lot of creatures used for cooking that really resemble Cheep-Cheeps and Bloopers, and clothing and armor are just so different! It’s so varied, and Peach loves every second of it.

She’s looking through a shelf of decorations and candles when someone bumps into her. She doesn’t think anything of it at first, only looks at them as they move past.

“Oh! Excuse me, I...”

And that’s when the princess notices that the other customer isn’t so much of a customer at all. It’s a child, a boy, not much older than ten. He’s also putting some candy from the corner section into his pocket. Before she can say anything, the boy is racing out of the store, leaving the elderly owner to hurry after him. Kupa Keene, her Moogle that seems to be lacking the right morals, just snickers as Peach moves to the counter. When the woman returns, she’s empty-handed and out of breath. Peach moves to help her back into her chair.

“Are you alright, ma’am? I’m so sorry, I wish I could have stopped him. Greed is such an unattractive quality, isn’t it? He ought to be ashamed.”

The elderly lady smiles, and, before she knows it, Peach is helping her with a few things. She learns that the owner is filling in for an absent employee, that her health hasn’t been so good lately. A quick Cure spell later, Peach is running errands for the old lady, getting something for her to eat, buying her some herbs. It takes her a few hours, and that’s enough to bore Kupa. As she’s heading home for the night, he asks her why she would waste her time working so long for absolutely nothing in return, and Peach only has one answer.

“Oh, Kupa! Don’t say that. I’d say we’ve made a new friend out of it, haven’t you? And it’s exactly what a Hero of Light should do!”

And she absolutely won’t be persuaded otherwise.

Mognet Sample:
Dearest Heroes of Light,

I’d like to ask you a question today. Throughout my life, I’ve been to many strange countries, some of them even like different worlds. Each one is unique, and the inhabitants are always lively and special. Being here, I can’t help but be reminded of those times. If we all do come from different worlds and times, there can’t be any way to possibly visit them all. So what are your worlds like? I’d love to hear all sorts of things about them, if you’re willing to share.

We can talk about it with letters or in person, if you’d like. I love meeting new people, and my doors are always open! Please do let me know, learning about other places is such fun, isn’t it? I can tell you about mine as well, if you’d like.

Yours truly,
Princess Peach
